My husband and I visited Morgan’s Cafe on Rock Quarry Rd in Stockbridge over the summer for lunch. It’s located next to a convenience store fronted by a gas station. That site had many eateries in there before, but Morgan’s has been there the longest. They serve breakfast and lunch until 3 pm and is closed on Sundays. Breakfast items on the menu include egg dishes/ omelettes, breakfast bowls, breakfast sandwiches and pancakes/ French toast. For lunch, a variety of sandwiches and burgers ( I recommend the chicken Philly cheesesteak), salads, Buffalo wings and of course, BBQ.

You walk in and you can smell the barbecue smoking on the side of the building while listening to light jazz continuously playing. Portions were just right and all ingredients are fresh. The best part we’re “ NY” home fries. They were perfect; just like my mom made.

Today we revisited the Cafe for breakfast. The home fries were included in the veggie breakfast bowl along with two scrambled eggs with cheese, red and green peppers and green onions. As a side, I highly recommend the large homemade melt in your mouth buttery biscuit. No butter necessary. In addition, they have daily specials and homemade baked goods,

Before finishing our meals, the chef comes from the back to see how everyone is doing. He stops at each table and offers more coffee and clean up.

More and more breakfast cafes are popping up in Henry County. We’ll try to hit each one we find and rate them.
