Today’s writing prompt asks, What is the last thing you learned?”

So my son got my husband and I hooked on Duolingo. I’ve always wanted to learn to speak French. Here is my chance.

The first words I learn are un homme ( a man ) et un chat ( and a cat ).

I began practicing my French on my cat ( mon chat )

I say good morning ( Bon jour mon chat, comment ca va?

She says , meeeow.

I would later learn another term for cat; minou . This more translates to “ kitty “

( Minou…minou…minou! Is the equivalent of “ Here kitty kitty “ )

In time I learn more basic nouns ( man, woman, boy, girl, dog, human and horse )and important verbs ( eat )

So I let my cat know important things:

Tu es mon chat, et je suis ton humain.

( You are my cat, and I am your human.)

And when she tries to bite my hand….

No minou, no mange tu humain.

Mange means eat. 😜
