How has technology changed your job?
Teacher
I love the platforms that take care of grading and standardized testing.
Reading programs and assignments that align with our standards and give precise data.
I love google items; drive, classroom- a one stop shop for student lessons and assignments. My favorite is google doc or slides. It allows me to see students as they work. I can give instant feedback and ask questions.
The students get scared when I see what they’re writing or not writing.
I have video clips and graphics at my fingertips
A world with very little paper to worryabout would be perfect.
BUT THEN, NOTHING US PERFECT!!
Students
1 on 1 technology sounded ideal. Students had less paper to lose and resources at their fingertips.
I teach middle school, and it’s obvious, COVUS quarantine caused students to be on their technology too much. They are easily distracted by other sites, bells and whistles.
The sense if responsibility for themselves went out the window. They gave little or no regard for the given technology, never charge them and we as teachers can’t easily provide them with new technology.
It got so bad, that our principal highly recommended a simple solution
Go back to paper and pencil.
