Ameris Bank Ampitheater

Alpharetta, GA

Here to see the B-52s, DEVO, and Lene Lovitch.

Reasonably priced tickets and parking. Shuttle service for those who can’t walk far. Bars and food vendors are well organized.

Coming from Stockbridge, all I can say is

THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE!!

I’m Back in High School

Lene Lovitch

The show started promptly at 7:00

The amphitheater has a great sound system and Lene, at 76, has a timeless voice. She’s still hitting the high pitch notes on classics like Lucky Numbers.

” Beautiful people everywhere…”

DEVO fans are out in buckets

Soon after Lene’s perfect warm-up, Devo emerges onto the stage. In front are three of the original band members (Mark Mothersbaugh, Bob Mothersbaugh, and Gerald Casale), plus Josh Freese on drums and Josh Hager on guitar and background vocals.

The playlist was seamless, with every known song performed. My husband was quite surprised they played ” Mongoloid”

And of course, they had to play this…..

Awesome videos play behind them for every performance, along with numerous fashion changes.

Great Voices Continue

The final performers for the evening were none other than our local heroes, the B-52’s. I say that because they did numerous shout-outs to some of their old stomping grounds – Alpharetta, Roswell, Lawrenceville, and of course Athens.

This was our second time seeing them live, as we had seen them perform at the Fox Theater on what was to be their “Farewell Tour”.

Three original members were on hand: Cindy Wilson, Kate Pierson, and the charming Fred Schneider.

Where the Fox Show was polished, this performance was more like performing for your friends in your backyard. They were very relaxed and humorous. They played all their big hits and had stories in between each one. It ended with my favorite, ” Rock Lobster” (running lobster man and all).
