In answering today’s prompt, I would say my cat. And here’s why.
…..from Yedna’s point of view.
I sit here at the end of the TV cabinet waiting for my human to wake up. The sun is almost up, and she is not up yet. What’s the deal?
OK, here she comes.
No, it’s my food; then get your coffee. Not the other way around. I can’t wait till your school year begins. Then my life will go back to normal.
RAA, RAA, RAA!! The sun is up. You know what that means. ( Tapping on the window blinds )
AHH. Good morning, backyard. Good morning, squirrel. Good Morning, birds. AH! A spider. I’d eat you, but you’re on the other side of the window.
She goes to the computer, plays her games, and writes. I sit by her side, and she rubs my head in between words and ideas.
OK, now he’s up and preparing to work. He needs coffee AND blasting music. My cue to go under the bed. I hate that noise.
Late afternoon, after a nice long nap. My human is planning to sit on the front porch.
” Yedna, outside?” she says.
“RAA!!” I say gladly.
I lay down on my side, enjoying the late afternoon breeze. I see a four-legged tailed specimen running up the column, and I go after it.
It leads me to the “jungle” of flowers and burrows beneath the wood chips.
Actually. It’s nice and peaceful under the canopy. Kinda like under the bed inside. Only here, I get to see people and things go by. It’s nice until the neighbor’s dog comes sniffing.
RAAAAAAA!!!! RUN TO THE DOOR. OUTSIDE TIME IS OVER.
The humans eat dinner and watch TV. I have my place on the arm of the chair between them.
” Maybe they’ll have that sweet dessert today. Similar to my favorite treat.”

TV goes off, Blinds are drawn, light out. I go on night patrol.
A FEW HOURS LATER…
ALARM…..SUNRISE….REPEAT.
