The One Who Stays Put and Simply Does its Thing ( And Does it Very Well )

Daily writing prompt
Which is the best restaurant in your city?

I have written about some of the restaurants in my county south of Atlanta, Georgia. People are always saying they want quality 5 star type restaurants here. We’re tired of the fast food and chain restaurants. But then when we do get something along the line of fine dining, it doesn’t last.

If family and friends from out of town visit, I take them to the McDonough Square. For fine, sit down dining, Pasta Max never disappoints. It’s first come, first serve. The wait is well worth it. Family owned, it has stood right off the square in a small house like structure for over 20 years. Word is the owner was offered the prime corner spot on the square and he turned it down saying it would ruin the ambiance. This owner knows his loyal clientele and welcomes everyone who visits. And the food is terrific.

Recently, the square welcomed their new fine dining spot; Pandora on the Square. It’s located in that prime corner spot. I haven’t been there yet. I will one day go and give you my review. Meanwhile, friends and colleagues who have been there complained about the slow service and inexperienced, discourteous servers. One colleague said she and her friends did not feel welcomed and you were only paying for the ambiance ( the food was sub-par ).

For more casual dining and fun Saturday nights with large screen sports and trivia, I highly recommend Crust N Craft, Macon Street Tacos and Kirby G’s ( some of the best burgers ever )

Finish the day off with Scoops Ice Cream and a stroll around the square.
